The best place to start with learning how to repair a windsurf board is to understand how they are constructed, that way you know what it is you will be dealing with before you actually start digging around a repair. Get to know everything from the “EPS” expanded polystyrene cores right through to the reinforcements of either fiberglass, Carbon, Kevlar® or combinations thereof. Goya Windsurfing Equipment Demo Day at the Poole Windsurfing school

Francisco Goya was on hand to answer questions about the latest 2012 goya windsurfing equipment, giving advice about how to rig sails & chat about the new equipment in the 2012 line up, such as the new Banzai sails which enable you to use a smaller size than normal yet still give some good early planing power!

Most of the Goya Windsurfing equipment was on display & ready to be tested by eager windsurfers! The list of demo equipment included boards such as the Goya Custom Quads, Goya Ones, Goya FXR’s and for windsurf sails there were 2012 Eclipse, Guru and Banzai Sails!

Francisco was helping setup boards & sails along with UK Importer, Rick of Zero Gravity Distribution & Terril from Poole Windsurfing. Francisco was super enthusiastic, telling all about how the Goya windsurfing equipment works and what changes have been made for the coming 2012 season. He is a super nice, genuine guy who clearly has a big passion for everything windsurfing and it was a pleasure to have him take the time to come down to the Poole Windsurfing school and share his knowledge with us!

Poole Windsurfing provided some of their Billabong wetsuits, wetsuit shoes & some beginners Goya Surf boards & Goya Surf sails for people to get out on the water at Poole Harbour and enjoy the afternoon. With an incoming tide, sun & a steadily increasing breeze, Francisco was a busy man rigging sails for those keen to get out there and do some product testing!

The location used by Poole Windsurfing is perfect for all levels of windsurfer, from beginners just getting their balance, people practicing their carve gybes and even those getting into the world of windsurf freestyle. The gently shelving, shallow water & steady onshore breeze make for great conditions for progress with your windsurfing.

Throughout the day Francisco Goya was on hand to sign autographs and general inspire the local windsurfers to get out there and enjoy the sport of windsurfing to the full.

The 2011 season is well under way now here at Poole Windsurfing and we are super happy with all the new equipment we have for you all to use this coming summer. Brand new intermediate windsurf boards, a full range of new 2011 advanced sails, new carbon RDM masts, all new fleet of Amex booms, new Billabong wetsuits – the list goes on! Basically, we have only the best top end windsurfing equipment at the Poole Windsurf School. Add to this our years of teaching experience & the fact that we are dedicated solely to windsurf tuition and equipment rental and you have yourself the perfect windsurfing training centre!

Not to blow our own trumpet but we have been getting so many really nice comments back from students who have been on our windsurfing lesson or hired windsurfing kit recently that we wanted to included just a few of them here. Plus there is not space to put all the great feedback we get on our Testimonials Page…

Opting for the Poole Windsurfing beginners course, they took me swiftly through what components make up a windsurfer (sail, mast, dagger board etc.) and the first steps of getting on to the board and sailing out and being able to turn round again (the latter I gather is more settling on the instructor’s stomach).

What I found was that, having been shown how to do everything properly the whole process of pulling the sail up and sailing was no longer a string of back-breaking terror-filled disasters but actually quite relaxing and relatively toll-free on the body. I did flop off a few times, some funnier than others, but soon got the point where I actually felt comfortable on the board and reasonably well in control. We went on to cover some turns and even tried a couple of tricks which challenged me, albeit in a good way.

The highlight of the lesson was surfing on the bow wave from one of the cross channel ferries – actually surfing! Something I felt would have been weeks away from my first lesson.

I couldn’t recommend Poole Windsurfing more, especially since their independent status means they are purely there to teach windsurfing with no other commercial bias.

Its great to hear back such positive comments from so many of our windsurfing students. We work hard at providing the best possible experience on our windsurfing lessons and when renting windsurf equipment from us.

On My Windsurf Sessions there are so many bits of windsurfing information that you can look at, some of which is pretty geeky but also very useful. For example, you could look at the chart giving the most windy spot of the year, if you are trying to decide where to go on your next windsurfing holiday.

Windsurfers can upload their recorded speeds & keep an eye on who is topping the speed charts!

Basically there is a whole wealth of windsurfing information on the website, its a great place to get some interesting statistics on windsurfing locations, where like minded windsurfers can share information and create a bit of friendly competition!

For the coming season the Poole Windsurfing school will have brand new 2011 windsurfing equipment from Goya, RRD, Amex & Billabong. Lucky students will be using all this new windsurfing equipment on their windsurfing lessons and people hiring windsurfing boards & sails will get to test out all the latest kit!

All types of windsurfing lessons will be running throughout the season from beginner and intermediate windsurfing lessons through to advanced courses and private windsurf tuition. Also, Poole Windsurfing offers a great windsurf hire program where you can pay by the hour or take advantage of a discounted 10 hour hire card that you use during the summer season.

The new 2011 equipment will include an expanded range of beginners windsurfing boards from both RRD & Goya, increasing the range of sizes covered by our fleet. The advanced windsurfing sail range is also being increased to cover more sizes. Our top of the range ‘Guru’ & the new ‘Nexus’ windsurfing sails will give intermediate to advanced windsurfers an even greater choice of sail size & type.

RDM (Reduced Diameter Masts) will once again be used exclusively throughout our windsurf school. We pride ourselves on using the best windsurfing equipment available & these RDM’s are normally only reserved for the instructors at most windsurfing schools! At Poole Windsurfing we use RDM’s for everything from advanced sails right through to using them on our beginners windsurfing lessons!

Then came the iFront boom technology that markets as giving unique trimming & tuning capabilities. Including such features as ‘tool-less RDM adaptor’, ‘Auto-Close’ & ‘Rope Storage’. Now, the latest to come out of the North Windsurfing technology farm is the Shox XTR. A Power XT that’s been taken to a whole new level of tech! A Power XT with an integrated high-end shock absorber. There is even an adjustable travel control level to set the shock absorber for different conditions.

According to North Windsurfing website…
“In the waves, firstly the SHOX.XTR dampens landings and delivers a new level of board control when going down-the-line.”

“Supports the pop in Freestyling by the rebound. In addition the damping improves reception on landings.
