Kids Windsurfing Lessons
We teach children under approximately 13 years old as ‘Kids Only’ or ‘Family’ Lessons to ensure that we can give them our full attention at all times. It is the best way to tailor the tuition, making the learning process fun for the kids and our kids windsurfing lessons are a cheaper option for parents! Our windsurf school is AALA licensed which is a legal requirement to teach children under 18 without their parents being present.

We take pride in being an independent windsurf school that can offer kids windsurfing lessons in small groups, to a very high teaching standard, with lots of time for each child.
Our business is built largely on word of mouth and kids loving their first beginners lessons, coming back to use our windsurf hire scheme to practice the basics and then taking more lessons to move up through the various levels of windsurfing.
What Your Kids Will Learn
The Full Beginners Course builds on the basics.
We start the Kids Beginners Windsurfing Course with a quick dry land simulator session to get them feeling confident and to run through the basics of how to windsurf.
The Kids Taster Windsurfing Lesson covers all the basic elements needed to get them up and windsurfing. After some on water fun and games with balance exercises they learn how to get into a ‘start position’, make a 180 degree turn and finally get into a ‘sailing position’ to get moving along. This course will get the kids having fun learning the basics of windsurfing!
The Kids Full Beginners Windsurfing Course is great for really getting your children involved in a new sport. After refreshing the basics, they learn how to eliminate sideways drift and master steering so they can navigate around others on the water. Finally they take a look at fine tuning their turns with a ‘tack’ towards the wind and ‘gybe’ away from the wind. Learning a complete set of skills, they will then be confident and safe enough to come back for regular practice sessions, renting equipment from us over the summer.
Get your kids active this summer and bring them (and yourself if you like!) down to the Poole Windsurfing School to learn how to windsurf. We have kids specific windsurf equipment with special narrow diameter masts and booms, plus small lightweight sails to make learning easy for young children.

What Is Included In the Price
All they need is a towel and swimwear, we provide everything else 🙂
They will learn in small groups, in the safe and shallow waters of Poole Harbour. We always us an on-land simulator session to give our students an excelerated learning path.
With brand new equipment and the provision of wetsuits, bouyancy aids and wetsuit shoes they will be all set to maximise their learning!

Licensed To Teach Children’s Windsurfing Lessons
Our windsurf school is accredited by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA), which allows us to teach under 18’s without their parents being present.
If you are considering booking your children (or grand children) in for kids windsurfing lessons or equipment rental it is important to make sure that the windsurf school you choose has an Adventure Activities License, without it they are not legally allowed to teach or rent equipment to under 18′s unless a parent for each child is present.

After their Full Beginners Windsurfing Course the next step for the kids is to take some windsurf hire time to practice what they have learnt. We offer beginner/improver windsurf hire at £20 per hour or better still they can do the recommended 10 hours practice with one of our discounted 10 hour hirecards, saving you £40 and making their hire only £16 per hour!
